We were invited to attend the annual Memorial Day festivities by the local V.F.W.
Camp Chaplain Charles Nunnaly was asked to lead the crowd in singing America the Beautiful and did an excellent job.  John Garbutt gave a great speech as always and Camp Historian Thomas Parsons thanked everyone for attending.  Mr. Parsons has been putting flowers on the monument in honor of all Veterans for 20 plus years.  Commander Carroll Creel placed a wreath on the Confederate Statue and Color Sgt. Ken McClure read the Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans.  The SCV was greeted with warm hearts and thanked by several attending.  It was definitely an emotional and enjoyable event.
