1858 New Army Revolver that was actually carried and used in the War by W. R. Blankinship. Identifying marks on the top of the gun reads: Patented sept. 14, 1858 by Eli Remington and Sons, Illon, New York U.S.A., New Model. This of course means the gun was manufactured in the North and probably originally issued to a Yankee soldier who had it taken from him by Mr. Blankinship and used for the Southern Cause. |
